Intersect Development Update #2 – Feb 16th

Blockchain is the fastest-growing industry in the world, primarily due to the activity and passion of the community whom it serves and who serve the ecosystems developing around it. At Intersect, it never ceases to amaze us just how creative and passionate our members are in contributing to the governance and future development of Cardano. Let’s look at what’s been happening over the last week.
Intersect Development Update #1 – Feb 9th

Introducing the first Intersect Weekly Development Update! The Intersect team will surface the latest developments and progress across the membership weekly, including committee updates, events, member highlights, and more. Let’s take a look at what’s happened over the last week.
Intersect Newsletter – Running into 2024

2024 is a momentous year for the Cardano community. The community consultation on delivering minimum viable on-chain governance continues, and the work to drive consensus on the constitution is reached. Later in February, we expect to see the interim constitution released, including more detail on the consultation period throughout the year, empowering the community to shape Cardano’s future through on-chain governance. Following the core Cardano Repos’s move to Intersect, we now proudly oversee the protocol advancement, development, testing, and support initiatives – all driven by committees and working groups. Participating in such a focused and active moment in Cardano’s history is truly amazing.
End of year wrap up

It’s closing in on the end of the year, and what a year it’s been for Intersect. In less than six months since we launched, through our members, we’ve put forward our purpose, goals, and objectives and installed the foundations to propel us into 2024.
CIP-1694 Progress Update: a positive end to an incredible year of building

Time of last update: 18th December 2023
Open horizons: Cardano migrates to Intersect

As a permissionless and decentralized blockchain, trust, transparency, and individual agency are central to Cardano’s mission and community-centric future. These principles support open-source practices and values, which have greatly contributed to Cardano’s ongoing development for years and will keep driving Cardano forward as the protocol advances.

Cardano Ballot Event on CIP-1694

- The ballot is a temperature check on progress made thus far – allowing all ada holders to voice their opinion on on-chain governance later this month
- Ballot comes as a result of 50 workshops across 24 countries, five rounds of iterations and over 1,000 people collaborating
- Results expected by 16th December
On December 1st a Cardano Ballot event on CIP-1694 will open for all ada holders to have their say on the future decision making process for the blockchain. Cardano has reached an incredible milestone. After six years of initial development and feature cultivation, the Cardano blockchain has reached the age of Voltaire. Guided by a principles-first approach and led by the community, this new age of Cardano advances inclusive accountability for all participants in the ecosystem. The time has come for a ballot by the community on the way forward. The proposal, specified in the ‘CIP-1694’ Cardano Improvement Proposal, aims to create minimum viable on-chain governance, and gives every ada holder a say in the future direction of Cardano. CIP-1694 is the most active improvement proposal in the history of Cardano’s development, with over 400 Github comments, 50 global workshops across 24 countries, and 1,000+ participants. In August this year, SanchoNet launched and is already in Phase 5 of its development. SanchoNet is the testnet for rolling out groundbreaking governance features for the Cardano blockchain, aligning with the comprehensive CIP-1694 specifications. SanchoNet stands apart from other testnets; it’s a vibrant, inclusive, and community-driven platform. Later this November, the SanchoNet GovTool will be made available as a beta release, making participation in SanchoNet more accessible to the wider Cardano community through the lens of a friendly user interface.

SanchoNet: The Gateway to Community Governance

Collaboration and consensus building are key themes leading Cardano forward. The road to Voltaire is an exciting one, with many processes and hurdles to overcome requiring community wide engagement. By empowering ada holders with the proper resources and opportunities to engage in the protocol’s development, Cardano continues to hit its milestones and is setting new industry standards for on-chain governance.
